A very RARE EX-DISPLAY Wrenn Class N2 Tank Locomotive running number 69496 in BR customary lined black Livery. The tool for this engine was lost in 1990 as a result few N2 tanks were produced after 1989.
This example of the Wrenn model number W2216A, is a later period version and a must for all collectors especially in NEW condition. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Offered in un-touched original test run order and includes its original Wrenn period box and packaging.
The Great Northern Railway (GNR) Class N2 is an 0-6-2T side tank steam locomotive designed by Nigel Gresley and introduced in 1920. Further batches were built by the London and North Eastern Railway from 1925. They had super heaters and piston valves driven by Stephenson valve gear. Some locomotives were fitted with condensing apparatus for working on the Metropolitan Railway Widened Lines between King’s Cross and Moorgate.
NOTE: BOX LID IS ORIGINAL TO THE ENGINE BUT DOES NOT DISPLAY THE /A TO BOX END OFTEN FOUND IN INK! INNER BOX DATE STAMPED (P2/04518) CONSISTENT WITH PRODUCTION DATE OF MANUFACTURE!
