Pleased to offer a superb alternative example of an A4 Class Pacific locomotive in Wartime Black.
This version is named “PEREGRINE” in NE livery, running number 4903. In our opinion as desirable as its counter part the “GANNET” This version commenced production in 1974 and ran through to 1990.
In 1990 this example was superseded and made with larger wheels. Its production run continued until the factory’s closure! This earlier Wrenn model number W2213 is becoming harder to find in such collectors condition. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none, offered with original box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
The LNER’s Express Pacific designs were probably the most famous of the LNER locomotives. Of these Pacific’s, the A4 is probably the most famous of all: Its distinctive streamlined shape has come to be a symbol of 1930s luxury and speed. Even today, it is an A4 which holds the world speed record for any steam locomotive in the world.
