A much desired and sort after 4-6-2 Southern Streamlined Bulleid Pacific Locomotive. This example is one of only 346 ever made and is becoming extremely difficult to find in such great condition. This example is the Blue Funnel Merchant Navy running number 21C13 in Wartime Black Livery!
This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn 1984- and production stopped in 1991 (Period Four). There was also an alternative model produced between 1990/92) which came with alternative lining. This version is the later example made at Wrenn Basildon as the box stamp and packer number suggests.
The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original lid with label at one end only, inner box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Note the underneath has a clear factory stamp in black showing packer number 2 reference number 05630! The date of production denotes June 1985!
The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacific’s or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid.
