A perfect seldom found version of a 4-6-2 Duchess Class Locomotive This example is the “City of Manchester” running number 46246 in British Rail Blue!
This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn between 1980-84 model reference W2229A. Like many lcomotives produced by Wrenn, thiis version is one of only 360 reported to have been made. The locomotive is complete in every respect has been fully serviced. The locomotive includes its original box & packaging, also included Wrenn manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined,although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
