VERY RARE, a factory fresh test run example of a much sought after “British Rail” Class 08 Diesel Shunter in traditional BR Green livery. This locomotive, model W2231 with running number D3763 was introduced by Wrenn in 1975 and its production ran until May 1990.

Another example which stood the test of time being produced throughout the four periods at BASILDON. This P4 example is a must for all collectors and purists especially in such condition.

The locomotive is complete in every respect, includes original box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Date stamp P2/90519, penultimate production run for this engine.

The Class 08 0-6-0 diesel shunting locomotives were built at Crewe, Darlington, Derby, Doncaster and Horwich locomotive works between 1955 and 1962. Class 08 diesel shunter’s have a maximum tractive effort of 156 kN/35000 lbf and Class 08’s maximum speed is 15 mph.
