Rarely do we find an example Wrenn model W2225 worthy of being a collectors piece. The Class 8F locomotive in LMS Black, running number 8042 is one which span’s all four periods of production at Wrenn Basildon Essex.
Alternative examples including a limited edition were made during the other periods. Model railway enthusiast refer to this engine as the workhorse for freight operations on any layout. Hence why they are seldom found in collectors condition.
This very late P3 example locomotive is complete in every respect, includes original box, packaging, instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
London Midland and Scottish Railway’s 8F class 2-8-0 heavy freight locomotive is a class of steam locomotive designed for hauling heavy freight. 852 were built between 1935 and 1946 (not all to LMS order), as a freight version of William Stanier’s successful Black Five. The class saw extensive service overseas during and after the Second World War.
Note: To preserve its value as a collectors model the engine is being offered as found. Service required if to be permanently run.
