Details

A fine LATE PERIOD FOUR collectors example of a Wrenn W2238 ETCHED PLATE "CLAN LINE" Rebuilt Bulleid 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive in BR Green, running number 35028

This version of the Clan Line with brass name plates model was introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in 1988 and production continued until 1992. During this period, only 896 were produced. However this also included the standard model with transfer plates!

The locomotive is complete in every respect & includes original box, packaging, manual, usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped in black packer no.2, 91623. Confirming a production date of JUNE 1991. This locomotive is as per the day it left the factory in Basildon with the exception of being fully serviced and test run periodically.

Due to problems with some of the more novel features of Bulleid's design, all members of the class were rebuilt by British Railways during the late 1950s. The class members were named after the Merchant Navy shipping lines involved in the Battle of the Atlantic. The Merchant Navy class operated until the end of Southern steam in July 1967.
