Wrenn “MALLARD 60022” BR Green, A4 Pacific 4-6-2 Locomotive W2211

An ideal opportunity to own a classic Wrenn model reference W2211 “Mallard”. This A4 Pacific Locomotive in BR Green, running number 60022 is a must have for any layout. This version was in production by Wrenn Basildon from 1969-1979 (Triang/Wrenn) Period Two. Production recommenced in 1983 and continued until the factory’s closure in 1992 (Period Four).

This is a very late P3 example model which has been fitted with metal rimmed wheels to the front and rear bogie, and tender. As are the main driving wheels with ALL Wrenn Locomotives. The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original Wrenn box, in superb condition. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue!

The LNER’s Express Pacific designs were probably the most famous of the LNER locomotives. Of these Pacific’s, the A4 is probably the most famous of all: Its distinctive streamlined shape has come to be a symbol of 1930s luxury and speed. Even today, it is an A4 which holds the world speed record for any steam locomotive in the world.
