Wrenn P4 GWR 8230 Green Standard Tank 2-6-4t model W2220

Offering a FACTORY FRESH display model of a very collectable 2-6-4T BR 4MT Standard Tank Class Locomotive.

This example is the “GWR unlined Green” running number 8230. This locomotive apart form the occasional test run has remained on display.

The 4MT Standard Tank was based on the EX-H/Dublo model released in 1967. This variation of the standard tank loco was produced by Wrenn at Basildon. Production commenced in early 1973 and ceased 1992, model reference W2220.

Unlike some of the others, this model was produced unlined and matt finished. This version is regarded among collectors especially as they are uncommon in such fine condition regardless of the fact there were plenty made over a twenty year production.

This late P3 example is complete in every respect and includes a labelled end Wrenn period box, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped in Red Packer Number 6.
