An as new model of a much cherished 2-6-4T BR 4MT Standard Tank Class Locomotive. This example is the RARE “BR Lined Black” running number 80079. The 4MT Standard Tank model was based on the EX-H/Dublo model released in 1967.
The standard tank loco was produced by Wrenn throughout ALL four periods at Basildon. Production commenced in early 1967 and ceased 1992, The Wrenn model reference W2218 was made in three versions. This lined black example was produced with a running number 80079 and finished with a late BR crest red/ blue linage and cream running numbers .
This version is HIGHLY regarded among collectors especially as they are very uncommon. Maybe its the fact that there was a combined production of only 245 with running numbers 80033 / 80079) of this model made between 1984-1992. This P4 example locomotive is complete in every respect and includes an original Wrenn Basildon W2218 box , packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
