A much desired and sort after 4-6-2 Southern Streamlined Bulleid Pacific Locomotive. This version is one of only 100 ever made and is becoming extremely difficult to find in such great condition. This example is named “Canadian Pacific Line” running number 21C5 in Wartime Black Livery! The locomotive was introduced by Wrenn between 1989-90 Period Four model reference W2289. an alternative later model (produced between 1990/92) came with alternative lining.
This version is an earlier example made at Wrenn Basildon. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped in black “packer no.2 date reference 89623 confirming a build date of June 1989.
The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacific’s or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid. They were amongst the first British designs to use welding in the construction process, and steel fireboxes. This meant that components could be more easily constructed under wartime austerity and post-war economy!
