Offering a fine PRESERVED example of a Wrenn 4-6-0 Royal Scot Class Locomotive in BR Green named “The Manchester Regiment” running number 46148.
Many of the Royal Scott locomotives produced by Wrenn were made in limited numbers. Example started production from 1981 and ceased production in early 1991/2 when the Basildon factory finally closed. The Manchester Regiment was made with both three and five pole motors. This example on offer is the RARE 5 POLE issued in 1989 with a total of only 72 reported to have been made.
This locomotive is serviced and complete in every respect. It comes in a W2262/a Manchester Regiment box (missing lettering 5P). Also included is the Wrenn manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
The Royal Scot was part of the London Midland & Scottish Railway Company (LMS) Royal Scot Class is a class is a 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive introduced in 1927. Originally having parallel boilers, all members were later rebuilt with tapered type 2A boilers, and were in effect two classes.
