Highly regarded amongst collectors and enthusiasts alike, this 4-6-2 Rebuilt Bulleid Pacific Locomotive model reference number W2236. This superb faultless example is the “DORCHESTER” running number 34042 in British Railways Green! This locomotive was made by Wrenn Railways throughout all Four Periods model reference W2236. What makes this locomotive special is the condition which is hard to find as most of them are play worn.
The locomotive is in original condition, complete in every respect and includes original Wrenn Basildon P4 box, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The locomotive is only of of 371 ever produced during period four and indeed less than 20 produced during 1991-92. A very rare find indeed.
Due to problems with some of the more novel features of Bulleid’s design, all members of the class were rebuilt by British Railways during the late 1950s. The class members were named after the Merchant Navy shipping lines involved in the Battle of the Atlantic. The Merchant Navy class operated until the end of Southern steam in July 1967.
TO PRESERVE ITS VALUE AS A DISPLAY MODEL IN OUR OPINION PARAMOUNT, THE LOCO REMAINS UN-SERVICED!
