Nothing short of an exceptional STUNNING example of the LMS maroon livery Duchess Class named “Queen Elizabeth” locomotive! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn for a short period between 1989-92 model reference W2285. This particular example is one of only 243 reported to having been made. It comes with the MK1 chassis and larger driving wheels.
The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes its original box, original packaging, also included Wrenn manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The inner box base has been stamped by the manufactures in black “packer no.2 – date reference 901042 confirming build date October 1990.
The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined,although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
