A fine model of a 4-6-2 Duchess Class Locomotive. This “City of Birmingham” running number 46235 in British Rail Green Livery is probably one of the best ever seen for its period! The locomotive was introduced by Wrenn between 1973-91.

There were two variations produced during this period which included approximately 100 with the mark two chassis, model reference W2228. This locomotive is becoming ever harder to find especially as more often than not they are all play worn! The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original box, packaging, together with the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue!

The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined,although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.

Superb condition with fantastic packaging as always.

City of Birmingham arrived in superb condition with fantastic packaging as always. I planned to buy one locomotive from Bruno but this is number four which says so much for the quality and service he delivers. Thank you
