Affording the discerning collector a brand new Hornby Model Railways B17/2 Class. This locomotive is produced in BR green livery with Early Emblem is named Serlby Hall 61631. This locomotive was introduced by Hornby as part of their highly detailed DCC ready range of locomotives.
The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) Class B17, also known as “Sandringham” or “Footballer” class. This class of 4-6-0 steam locomotive was designed by Nigel Gresley for hauling passenger services on the Great Eastern Main Line. In total 73 locomotives were built.
The final design of the B 17 Class incorporated many features of the A I Pacifies built in 1924 but several modifications were required before the first B 17 was delivered in late 1928. Between 1930 and 1937 a total of 73 B 17 locomotives were produced by Robert Stephenson & Co. at Darlington and Glasgow.
