This locomotives being offered is from our personal collection! This example is the sort after 4-6-2 Streamlined Bulleid Pacific “TAVISTOCK” limited edition running number 21C111 in Southern Malachite Green Livery! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn between 1988-89 model reference W2407 later models produced between 1990/91 came with alternative lining.
This version is the limited edition, only 248 example were ever made at Wrenn Basildon. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual Limited edition certificate NO.103 and usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped “Packer no. 2 Ref: 8 292 dating this locomotive to February 1992.
The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacifics or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid. Incorporating a number of new developments in British steam locomotive technology, they were amongst the first British designs to use welding in the construction process, and to use steel fireboxes.
