This model is one of the first to be produced and has been displayed since manufactured at Wrenn Basildon. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped P2/90102 dating this locomotive to Jan 1809.

The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacific’s or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid. Incorporating a number of new developments in British steam locomotive technology, they were among the first British designs to use welding in the construction process, and to use steel fireboxes.
