A highly regarded LIMITED EDITION 4-6-2 Rebuilt Bulleid Pacific Locomotive This superb example is the “Lord Dowding” running number 34052 in British Rail Green! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn very late on in its production at Basildon between 1990-92 model reference W2415. This example is one of only 182 reported to have been made in period four.

The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original Wrenn Basildon box, packaging, display plinth with track and plaque. Also numbered certificate instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Underneath stamped P2/91727 confirming production date Jul 1991.

Due to problems with some of the more novel features of Bulleid’s design, all members of the class were rebuilt by British Railways during the late 1950s. The class members were named after the Merchant Navy shipping lines involved in the Battle of the Atlantic. The Merchant Navy class operated until the end of Southern steam in July 1967.
