A fine LATE PERIOD FOUR collectors example of a Wrenn W2237 “LYME REGIS” Rebuilt Bulleid 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive in Southern Malachite Green, running number 21C109.

This version of the Lyme Regis with light ORANGE TRANSFERS (as opposed to light off yellow) was introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in late 1990 and production continued until 1992. During this period, only 58 were reported to have been produced!

The locomotive is complete in every respect & includes original box, packaging, manual, usual holding rings and tissue! The underneath is clearly stamped in black P2/91831. Confirming a production date of August 1991. This VERY LATE production item and is as per the day it left the factory in Basildon.

Due to problems with some of the more novel features of Bulleid’s design, all members of the class were rebuilt by British Railways during the late 1950s. The class members were named after the Merchant Navy shipping lines involved in the Battle of the Atlantic. The Merchant Navy class operated until the end of Southern steam in July 1967.
