A superb early P4 display model of a 4-6-2 Duchess Class City of Liverpool number 6247 in LMS Maroon Livery.
There were four variations produced between 1978-1992 which included; extended lining and larger wheels, all with model reference W2242. This early locomotive is becoming ever harder to find especially as more often than not they are all play worn!
The locomotive is original in every respect as found in a display cabinet. Offered in an associated Wrenn Basildon labelled end box, together with the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue!
The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined,although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
NOTE: to retain its value as a display model from new, (we believe paramount) the engine remains as supplied direct from Wrenn!
