Offering for sale a Wrenn War Department Standard 8F Class locomotive in grey, running number 302, model reference W2281. This type of locomotive is one of the few which spans all four periods of production that Wrenn undertook at Basildon Essex. Alternative examples include a LIMITED EDITION, a BR Green & LMS Maroon.
As all model railway enthusiast know, this is the “WORKHORSE” for freight operations on any layout. Hence why they are very seldom found NOT play worn and boxed. This version is RARE and highly sort after by avid collectors! With a limited run of 207 examples produced between 1988-1992 they are becoming extremely difficult to source in such great condition.
The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original box, packaging in retail shelf condition. Complete with instruction manual, usual holding rings and tissue! Furthermore the box is clearly stamped underneath in BLACK packer number 2 date code 89935. This example was one of the few produced in 1989!
