For sale a probably only ever test run example of a much sought after “L.M.S” Class 08 Diesel Shunter in traditional Black livery. This locomotive, model W2233 with running number 7124 was introduced by Wrenn in 1976 and its production ran until 1992. This later P3 period three example is a must for all collectors and purists especially in such condition. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original stamped box and packaging. Also included are the usual holding rings and tissue!
The Class 08 diesel shunting locomotives were built at Crewe, Darlington, Derby, Doncaster and Horwich works between 1955 and 1962. The British Rail Class 08 was the standard class of diesel locomotive designed for shunting. From 1953 to 1962. In total 996 locomotives were produced, making it the most numerous of all British locomotive classes.
