Offering our own 00 gauge ex-demonstration model Class 46 especially developed by “Bachmann Branch-line as part of their DCC series. This engine has been factory DCC Sound fitted and run in for immediate use. The locomotive includes, unopened accessory pack and paperwork.
The British Rail Class 46 is a 1Co – Co1 diesel electric locomotive built between 1961 and 1963 at Derby Works. Part of the “Peak” family (along with Class 44/45), it used a 2,500 hp Sulzer 12LDA28B engine and featured Brush electrical equipment. These Type 4 locomotives were mainly used for passenger services.
A total of fifty-six locomotives were built. The first was withdrawn in 1977 and all were withdrawn by the end of 1984. Three of the class have been preserved including Ixion 46035.
