Nothing short of an exceptional example of the BR Green livery Duchess Class named “Queen Elizabeth” running number 46221 locomotive! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn for a short period between 1991-92 model reference W2299. This particular example is one of only 145 reported to having been made. It comes with the MK1 chassis and larger driving wheels.
The locomotive is complete in every respect, includes its original box, Wrenn manual, usual holding rings and tissue! The component part have been check for authenticity against Wrenn records and other known examples. All of which are consistent with model and production date late 1991-92.
The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined, although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
Note: engine remains test run only, a lubrication and or basic service advisable if to be permanently run!
