A superb Wrenn Class N2 Tank Locomotive running number 69550 this time in BR customary lined black Livery. This example is one of a few which was produced throughout Periods One to Four especially as this loco shared a chassis block with the 0-6-0T but with a rear bogie added. The tool for this was lost in 1990 as a result few N2 tanks were produced after 1989.

This example of the Wrenn model number W2216 and is a later period 3 version, a must for all collectors especially in such condition. The locomotive is complete in every respect. Included is the instruction manual, usual holding rings and tissue and alternative couplings!

The Great Northern Railway (GNR) Class N2 is an 0-6-2T side tank steam locomotive designed by Nigel Gresley and introduced in 1920. Further batches were built by the London and North Eastern Railway from 1925.

They had super heaters and piston valves driven by Stephenson valve gear. Some locomotives were fitted with condensing apparatus for working on the Metropolitan Railway Widened Lines between King’s Cross and Moorgate.
