Wrenn G W Black 11T Gunpowder Van “X” running no. W105780 model reference W5057

Offering for sale a superb example of a Black 11T Gunpowder Van running no. W105780. This 11T 4 Wheeled Gunpowder Van, Wrenn model reference number W5057 was introduced by Wrenn in 1979 and production continued for a good period until 1992.

There were a number of different gunpowder vans made. This example of the G W wagon is finished in Black with a distinctive RED CROSS and running numbers in white. The item was produced in PERIOD FOUR 1987. Offered complete with original box, inner yellow sleeve and packaging.

Despite their name, the gunpowder van with a cone top was a ventilated van variant. The difference was its construction which was made from steel to withstand possible explosions and damage to its contents. The gunpowder van was produced at Swindon Works in the UK with a wheel base of 9′ 0″. These wagons were constructed mainly during the early 1930’s.
