A RARE and seldom found example of this much sort after 4-6-2 Streamlined Bulleid Pacific Locomotive named “SPITFIRE”. This version in BR Green livery with running number 34066 was produced for FIVE YEARS.

Production commenced in 1986 and continued until mid 1991. During this period only 140 were reported to have been made. The locomotive has been fully serviced and comes in original condition, complete in every respect and includes P6 Wrenn Cheshunt box, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue!

The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacific’s or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid. They were amongst the first British designs to use welding in the construction process & steel fireboxes. This meant that components could be more easily constructed under wartime austerity, post-war economy!
