For sale a much sought after “British Rail” Class 08 Diesel Shunter in traditional BR Green livery. This locomotive, is a factory powered version of the NON POWERED W2231NP engine with running number D3768. This class 08 shunter was introduced by Wrenn in 1985 and its production only ever ran for 12 months!
Another example which stood the test of time being produced throughout the four periods at Basildon. This in our opinion a very rare find P4 example is a must for all collectors and purists especially in such condition.
The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none and includes original stamped box and packaging. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Underneath clearly stamped PACKER no.3 06623 in black.
The Class 08 0-6-0 diesel shunting locomotives were built at Crewe, Darlington, Derby, Doncaster and Horwich locomotive works between 1955 and 1962. Class 08 diesel shunter’s have a maximum tractive effort of 156 kN/35000 lbf and Class 08’s maximum speed is 15 mph.
