A fine and much cherished 2-6-4T BR 4MT Standard Tank Class Locomotive This example is the “LMS Lined Maroon” running number 2679. The 4MT Standard Tank was based on the EX-H/Dublo model released in 1967. This variation of the standard tank loco was produced by Wrenn at Basildon. Production commenced in early 1972 and ceased 1992, model reference W2219.
Three variants of this model were produced both lined and unlined and alternative bright yellow lining. All however came with the same running number 2679. The less common versions were known to have been made in the last years at Basildon 1991/92 This P3 version is regarded among collectors especially as they are uncommon in such fine condition.
This later P3 example locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original box, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue.
