A VERY RARE and seldom found example of this much sort after 4-6-2 Streamlined Bulleid Pacific Locomotive named “Lamport & Holt”. This version in BR Green livery with running number 35026 was produced for ONE YEAR ONLY. Production commenced in 1988 and continued until mid 1989. During this period only 82 were reported to have been made!!
The locomotive has been fully serviced and comes in original condition, complete in every respect and includes original box, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Note: the underneath is clearly stamped as follows PACKER NUMBER 2 PRODUCTION DATE CODE 89625!
The SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, collectively known as Light Pacific’s or informally as Spam Cans, are air-smoothed 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotives designed for the Southern Railway by its Chief Mechanical Engineer Oliver Bulleid. They were amongst the first British designs to use welding in the construction process, and steel fireboxes. This meant that components could be more easily constructed under wartime austerity and post-war economy!
