A stunning example of a Wrenn BR Black livery Duchess Class with alternative etched name plates “Leeds City / King George VI” locomotive! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn for the period of one year only between 1991-1992 model reference W2311.
This particular example with running number 46244 is of only 69 reported to having been made during the production run! The locomotive is complete in every respect showing no signs of use other than test run after which was displayed only! Comes complete with original P6 Cheshunt box and packaging (original box damaged beyond repair). Also included original Wrenn manual and usual holding rings, tissue and alternative nameplates!
The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined,although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
TO RETAIN ITS VALUE AS A DISPLAY MODEL WE HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO SERVICE. SHOULD ANYONE PURCHASING WISH TO RUN WE WILL SERVICE F.O.C BEFORE DELIVERY!
