For sale a PROBABLY ONLY EVER TEST RUN example of a much sought after “British Rail” Class 08 Diesel Shunter in traditional BR Blue livery. This locomotive, is the RARE NON POWERED version model W2232/NP with running number D3523. This class 08 shunter was introduced by Wrenn in 1982 and its production ran until 1985. During this period only 55 were reported to have been made!
Another example which stood the test of time being produced throughout the four periods at BASILDON.. This RARE example is a must for all collectors and purists especially in such condition.
The locomotive is complete in every respect. Its condition is second to none comes complete with original box. Also included is the instruction manual and usual holding rings and tissue! Underneath clearly stamped in red P1 / 02246 production June 1984.
The Class 08 0-6-0 diesel shunting locomotives were built at Crewe, Darlington, Derby, Doncaster and Horwich locomotive works between 1955 and 1962. Class 08 diesel shunter’s have a maximum tractive effort of 156 kN/35000 lbf and Class 08’s maximum speed is 15 mph.
