A STUNNING example of a Wrenn, A4 Pacific Woodcock, model reference W2283. This variation in LNER Grey, is a later produced example by Wrenn with running number 4489. This locomotive was made with a MK1 chassis and larger running wheels.
This locomotive was introduced in 1989 Period 4, with production finishing in 1992 . During this period 173 examples were made.
This locomotive has been stored from NEW and remains un-blemished throughout. Complete in every respect, includes its original inner and outer box, manual and usual holding rings and tissue. The underneath is clearly stamped in black with packer no.2 date code 89519 confirming build date late May 1989.
The LNER’s Express Pacific designs were probably the most famous of the LNER locomotives. Of these Pacific’s, the A4 is probably the most famous of all: Its distinctive streamlined shape has come to be a symbol of 1930s luxury and speed. Even today, it is an A4 which holds the world speed record for any steam locomotive in the world.
