A superb factory fresh collectors example of a Wrenn W2209AM2 “Great Snipe” A4 Pacific Locomotive in LNER Green, running number 4495. This version of the Great Snipe was made with a MK2 chassis. This model was introduced by Wrenn, Basildon in 1987 and production continued for one year only. During this period, only 60 were produced. A very scares model indeed having been found displayed in a cabinet!
The locomotive is complete in every respect & includes a Basildon Cheshunt P6 box, packaging, manual, usual holding rings and tissue! We have classified this locomotive as new due to its overall condition having shown no signs of use.
The LNER’s Express Pacific designs were probably the most famous of the LNER locomotives. Of these Pacific’s, the A4 is probably the most famous of all: Its distinctive streamlined shape has come to be a symbol of 1930s luxury and speed. Even today, it is an A4 which holds the world speed record for any steam locomotive in the world.
