A very RARE find and MUST have variant of the 2-6-4T BR 4MT Standard Tank Class Locomotive This example is the “LNER Lined Green” running number 9025. The 4MT Standard Tank was based on the EX-H/Dublo model released in 1967. This version of the standard tank loco was introduced by Wrenn in 1983 and production ceased 1989, model reference W2271. Commonly referred to as “THE ALTERNATIVE WORKHORSE” on any layout.

As with all model locomotives its all about condition. This 4MT Tank example, without exception is one of the best I have every seen We are of the opinion it “WAS BOXED, STORED AND PROBABLY ONLY TEST RUN!” This version is highly prized among collectors especially as its becoming increasingly harder to find WITH LESS THAN 145 ever made! The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes original box in super condition for age, packaging, manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The base box is stamped packer no.3 date stamp 11346 denoting build date Nov 1983

The 4MT standard Class 4 tank is a British Railways class of steam locomotive, one of the BR standard classes built during the 1950’s. They were used primarily on commuter and outer suburban services. The Standard 4 tanks were originally allocated to all regions of British Railways, except the Western. They became particularly associated with the London, Tilbury-Southend Line (LT&S) working commuter services out of London until the route was electrified 1962.
