Offering for sale a brand new boxed example of a Hornby Model Railways SR Green Maunsell Composite Coach running number 6572, model reference number R4318C.
By 1926, Maunsell had developed his designs for Southern Railway carriage stock to the extent that many of the features could be termed “STANDARD” The body which was in essence a ‘bow-ended’ design with a basic length of 59′ along the coach center-line included passenger compartments each with an external door and corridors and “low”main window lights.
The windows were fitted into a wooden frame arranged such that the glass was noticeably recessed into the body side. A number of other changes took place these were noticeably to the designs of 926,1929 &1935. For further information you can refer to http://www.srg.org.uk/Maunsell_history_01.htm
