A brand new Trailer 1st Car especially commissioned by Hornby Model Railways as an addition to their DCC FITTED “Brighton Belle” train pack which comprises of a upper detailed Pullman Car set in BLUE running numbers S293S & S292S respectively.
This Brighton Belle Trailer 1st Car running no. S281S model R4529 come complete with working table lamps which illuminate when in motion. This pack reflects the livery of the train as it entered service between London & Brighton.
The Southern Railway (SR) gave the designation 5-BEL to the five-car all-Pullman Electric Multiple Units which worked the prestigious Brighton Bell trains between London Victoria and Brighton. These units survived long enough in British Rail ownership to be allocated TOPS Class 403. Between 1933 and 1935 the units were designated 5-PUL (the ‘PUL’ code was then used for the 6-PUL units).
