The LNER Thompson B1 Class steam locomotive is a4-6-0 2-cylinder general purpose engine. It was designed by Edward Thompson and built between 1942 and 1952. The B1 was intended to be a cheap locomotive to help Britain recover after World War II

Surprisingly B1 class 4-6-0 no 61394 reached a max of 60 mph. The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) Thompson Class B1 No.1264 is a preserved British steam locomotive.
