Nothing short of an exceptional example of the BR Green livery Duchess Class named “Queen Elizabeth” running number 46221 locomotive! This locomotive was introduced by Wrenn for a short period between 1991-92 model reference W2299. This particular example is one of only 145 reported to having been made. It comes with the MK1 chassis and larger driving wheels.

The locomotive is complete in every respect and includes its original box, original packaging, also included Wrenn manual and usual holding rings and tissue! The inner box is clearly stamped in black with a five digit date code and packer no. 2. The code is 91 2 9 build date of Feb 1991. Consistent with model and production.

The Duchess locomotive used by London Midland & Scottish Railways was a class of express passenger steam locomotives designed by William Stanier. The Duchess class got its name as a result of being a non-streamlined, although to engine-men they were often known as Big Lizzies.
